What Did Jesus Say...

HAVE YOU EVER FELT- alone, scared, anguished, distressed, crushed or afraid? IF SO, let us remember the night JESUS faced HIS most troubling time. Discover how JESUS felt, what He said and how HE handled the worst night of HIS life.

HERE’S THE STORY- Then Jesus went with them to the olive grove called Gethsemane, and he said, “Sit here while I go over there to pray.” He took Peter and Zebedee’s two sons, James and John, and he became ANGUISHED and DISTRESSED. He told them, “My soul is CRUSHED with GRIEF to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.” He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.” Then he returned to the disciples and found them asleep. He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you watch with me even one hour? Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!” Then Jesus left them a second time and prayed, “My Father! If this cup cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will be done.” Matthew 26:36-42.

It didn’t matter what JESUS had to face. He wanted to do HIS FATHERS WILL.

JESUS SAID- These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, For, I have overcome the world. John 16:33

So – WHENEVER I BEGIN (even for a moment) to feel exhausted, pressed, stressed or compromised in any way- I instantly reflect on the evening Jesus was arrested. I remember that HE TOO wanted “this cup” to pass by HIM, however HE wanted to do HIS FATHERS WILL so, HE FACED HIS TRIBULATIONS with the love for HIS FATHER. And because HE did this HE WAS RESURRECTED for ALL TO SEE and today WE are considered HIS SPIRITUAL FAMILY.

When we UNDERSTAND this, then we will no longer consider our life difficulties relevant, because when YOU are WALKING WITH JESUS- TRUE peace comes from knowing HE IS WALKING WITH YOU.
