The Greatest Man in history is Jesus. He had no servants, yet they called Him MASTER. He had no degree, yet they call Him TEACHER. He had no medicines, yet they called Him HEALER. He had no army, yet Kings feared Him. He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world. He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today. While they were crucifying Him, He forgave them, and when they buried Him-HE ROSE AGAIN and stayed 40 days, giving final instructions.
In the closing chapters of Matthew- Jesus clearly told HIS DISCIPLES, to go and teach the world what He taught them. Jesus told them the Holy Spirit would remind them WHAT HE SAID and give them more understanding. Then HIS DISCIPLES became known as HIS APOSTLES (being sent) and they went out TEACHING everyone what JESUS TAUGHT. In Peter, James and John’s Epistles, each of them made the statement about being with Jesus side by side, everyday.
Its been 2,000 years since the resurrection of Jesus and even today there’s still great divisions on what’s most important to read. Do we read WHAT JESUS SAID in the 4 Gospels or do we focus on what others said about JESUS after the Resurrection only. For MANY YEARS, Peter taught what Jesus said to him while being guided by The Holy Spirit. Then when Peter died – Mark (his companion) wrote the Gospel of Mark so we would have a FULL ACCOUNTING of what Peter told him about Jesus. Soon after that Matthew wrote his version so we would have a fuller understanding of what Jesus said and did- as well as a recording of His blood line. Now, after Paul died, Luke (his companion) wrote the Gospel of Luke as well as Book of Acts. They were both written to a man named Theophilus to explain JESUS CHRIST and THE WAY (Christians)
It would be 25 years after Peter and Paul died, that the Apostle John (himself) wrote the Gospel of John. This Gospel is considered the Spiritual Gospel containing the most mature understanding of Jesus being GODS SON and the meaning of LOVE, LIGHT AND TRUTH, plus the power of WORDS- THE WORD, HIS WORD. Apostle John goes onto write 1John which clearly defines who is BORN AGAIN and who is not.
When you add it all up, their writings all started with HIS TEACHINGS and therefor if we too would read, learn and do WHAT JESUS SAID, in the 4 Gospels, then we can trust the Holy Spirit will guide us too, forevermore.
WE CAN’T CONTINUE to let other people (ministers, pastors, evangelists etc) teach us what we should be reading, learning and doing ourselves- There are some things we are instructed to do AFTER our conversion to Christianity. Yes, its true we can’t earn our way to heaven or our salvation, HOWEVER the writings of Peter, James, John, Paul and JESUS all say we could loose our Heavenly place by returning to sin and disobedience to GOD or in others words- HIS SON.
Lets read and learn what JESUS SAID, about HIS WORDS;
“I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. – for- The hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak. If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. – A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher. By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another”
In closing I want to say –
NO ONE can teach us like JESUS CAN, and when you think about it- Jesus directly taught Peter, James, John, and then Paul through the Holy Spirit. And after they died, the Spirit guided the writings of the 4 Gospels so we would ALL know for ourselves WHAT JESUS SAID so He can TEACH US and the Holy Spirit will guide us according to HIS WORDS.
I encourage you to take the time to read the 4 Gospels and learn directly from THE MASTER – Gods Son- Jesus the Christ. Its only 4 books and you can read one a week slowly, or in a weekend with intensity – your choice. – Amen
